Toxicity Testing

Aquatic Bioassay & Consulting Laboratories was founded as a toxicity testing lab in the mid 1980’s. Since that time our client list has grown to include clients tasked with meeting federal and state regulatory standards. We currently have over 200 toxicity testing clients making us one of the most successful bioassay laboratories on the West Coast. Our laboratory is fully equipped to perform all marine and freshwater acute or chronic toxicity tests for point and non-point source NPDES permits, harbor dredging operations, stormwater programs, hazardous waste materials and the State of California’s Sediment Quality Objectives (SQOs).

All of our tests are certified by the State of California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP) and are in compliance with USEPA/COE, ASTM, and DOHS regulations. In addition, we participate in annual national DMR and regional toxicity intercalibration studies. Our detailed reports are ready for presentation to federal and state regulatory agencies and our turn around times are the fastest in the industry.
